Job summary

An established industry player is seeking an Advanced Practitioner for a maternity cover role in their Locality Teams. This position offers the chance to make a significant impact on children's social care through the development and delivery of support models. You will work collaboratively within a small team to implement the Signs of Safety framework and promote trauma-informed practices. Ideal candidates will be registered social workers with extensive experience in coaching and mentoring others. Salary: £42,498 - £46,344 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) and plus market premia

Working Hours: 37 hours per week Mon - Fri

Contract Type: Temporary Maternity Cover - approximately 9 - 12 months

About the Role

This is a maternity cover opportunity for the role of an Advanced Practitioner for our Locality Teams in Hinckley and South Wigston for approximately 9 - 12 months. You will need to be a Children’s Social Worker registered with Social Work England. In this role, you will develop and deliver a coherent model of support and challenge related to social work practice development through training, group work, and 1-1 support. Working as part of a small team, you will help embed our departmental practice framework, Signs of Safety, and our ambition to be a trauma-informed children and family department.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.

About You

To apply, you must:

  • Be a Children’s Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Have extensive experience working with children and families within children’s social care, with breadth and depth across various areas.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and practical application of Signs of Safety tools and disciplines.
  • Have knowledge of trauma-informed practice and its application in working with children and families.
  • Have experience in coaching, mentoring, and training others to develop their practice.
  • Be capable of challenging inadequate practice to support improvement.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of key practice areas, including whole-family safeguarding and risk management.
  • Be up-to-date with national changes affecting social work practice.

You should also understand and commit to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and be prepared to demonstrate this during the selection process.
