Advanced Practitioner - Disabled Children
Northampton, Northamptonshire, England

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for an Advanced Practitioner within the Disabled Children Team to work full time based in Northamptonshire.

The salary for this permanent Advanced Practitioner job is up to £44,911 per annum.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work independently to hold and effectively manage a small complex caseload, including high-risk looked after children, high profile court work, and specialist assessments.
  2. Undertake high quality direct work with children, young people, and families, prioritising their safety and using Signs and Safety methodology.
  3. Lead family network meetings and case mappings, carrying out in-depth family assessments of social need.
  4. Co-work specialist assessments with less experienced team members to ensure their development.
  5. Assist the Team Manager in recruitment, induction, supervision, and appraisal of team members.
  6. Recognise harm and risk indicators relating to various forms of abuse or neglect.
  7. Use reflective supervision and research to recognise personal professional limitations and seek guidance when necessary.
  8. Navigate the family and youth justice systems in England to support families and protect children.
  9. Seek professional advice on legal issues impacting children and families involved with statutory services.
  10. Make realistic child-centred plans within a review timeline to manage identified risks.
  11. Continuously develop knowledge of child development and adult behaviours impacting parenting.
  12. Support, coach, and mentor team members, acting as a Practice Educator for social work students.

Requirements:

  1. A social work qualification or equivalent.
  2. Understanding of relevant legislation.
  3. Social Work England registered.
  4. Experience within Adult Social Work.
