Advanced Practitioner - Children with Disabilities

We are currently recruiting for an Advanced Practitioner - Children with Disabilities Team in Cheltenham, UK, earning £43 hourly. This is an ongoing, full-time role within the Disabled Children and Young Persons team. With a focus on supporting children and young people aged 0-18 years old with significant needs due to their disabilities, this role offers a unique chance to be part of a transformative journey as our team expands. You will be a resilient, driven individual with the ability to affect positive change, ensuring the best outcomes for the children and young people of Gloucestershire by leading quality control and improvement activities.

What you will do:

  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop plans to support children and young people with significant disabilities.
  2. Manage a protected case load, creating tailored interventions for those with complex and challenging needs.
  3. Collaborate with partners to ensure a unified approach to support services.
  4. Provide supervision and guidance to Trainee Social Workers and NQSW within the team.
  5. Lead on quality control and improvement activities, promoting excellent practice across the service.

The role requires:

  1. Social Work England registration.
  2. A recognised qualification in Social Work.
  3. Completion of the ASYE year if qualified after 2012.
  4. A full driving licence and willingness to travel.
  5. Enhanced DBS clearance.
