Job description

Part-time hours offered | £6k in welcome & retention | Flexible Working | Welcome Payment of £4,000 | Sponsorship if 2 years UK experience

Are you looking for career advancement but feel held back by your current employer's need for your knowledge and skills, resulting in complex and high caseloads rather than the progression you desire?

Are you an agency worker aiming for seniority, or a permanent staff member not yet given the chance to step up? Agency work has its advantages (we understand!), and staying in a familiar role can be comfortable— but what could a change offer you?

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering a first-class service to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people in Gloucestershire. You will be a resilient, driven individual contributing to our vision for children’s services. Managing a protected caseload, you will work to create positive outcomes for children and young people with complex needs, risks, and circumstances.

You will lead initiatives to promote and support quality control and improvement activities within the team and across the service, supporting performance enhancement.

Locations: Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Stroud, Cirencester, and Forest of Dean

The package includes:

  • Welcome payment of £4,000
  • Salary between £46,731 - £49,764 per annum, depending on experience
  • Annual retention payment of £2,000
  • Relocation package of up to £8,000
  • Flexible working options
  • Generous annual leave starting at 25.5 days, increasing to 30.5 days after five years, with the option to purchase an additional 10 days per year
  • Sponsorship available for candidates with at least 2 years of UK experience

The Council is committed to timely support for every child, focusing on continuous improvement, effective social work practices (systemic and relational approaches), and empowering staff to make a real impact. The team structure supports manageable caseloads, including a Team Manager, Advanced Practitioner, and four Social Workers per team.

If you are interested in joining a long-term, stable authority nestled in some of England’s finest countryside, please send your CV to Nathan@leadersincare.co.uk or call 07401281738.

As this is a statutory role, a social work qualification and registration with Social Work England are required.
