Job description

Social Worker/ Advanced Practitioner in an Assessment Team - CONECT Team in Bedford

Responsibilities:

  • Complete high-quality Child and Family Assessments in a timely and child-centred manner.
  • Attend and contribute to strategy discussions, Section 47 enquiries, and Initial Child Protection Conferences (ICPCs).
  • Undertake direct work with children and families to ensure safety and positive outcomes.
  • Work closely with multi-agency partners, including education, health, and police, to assess risk and take appropriate action.
  • Maintain accurate and analytical case recordings in line with statutory requirements.
  • Participate in regular supervision and team discussions, contributing to the team's strength and consistency.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Recent experience in a Children's Assessment or Safeguarding Team
  • Skilled in completing Section 17/47 assessments and participating in ICPCs
  • Strong knowledge of statutory social work practice, child development, and safeguarding frameworks
  • Confident in direct work with children and building relationships with families
  • Committed to delivering timely interventions and upholding best practice

This is a full time temporary position on ongoing basis.
