Job summary

A leading company in social services is looking for a Non-Case Holding SEND Advanced Practitioner to join the Barnsley Children’s Services. This role involves supporting service developments, managing projects, and working collaboratively with various partners in the field of disabilities. Candidates must hold relevant qualifications and have extensive experience in children's safeguarding and disabilities. This is an initial three-month position that offers competitive hourly pay and additional benefits.

Qualifications

Non-Case Holding SEND Advanced Practitioner

Details:
Barnsley Children’s Services are seeking a non case holding advanced social work practitioner to work within Barnsley’s children with disabilities service to support in driving forward service developments & other key areas of focus. The candidate must have a social work degree qualification. Any potential candidate must have several years experience of working within children’s safeguarding services & experience of working with children with disabilities at a senior practitioner level. Experience of supervising others is desirable. This will be a non-case holding role, whereby you will support the Designated Social Care Officer with rolling out training, co-production with parents/carers, children & young people, the co-development of Social Care/SEND services and the new Barnsley short breaks team. This role is initially for a 3 month period. The applicant must have drive, initiative & be able to effectively manage their time to complete projects within a tight timescale. The candidate will work with health, SEND, social care & other partners across the SEND landscape and must have a sound knowledge of children’s legislation, including the SEND code of practice and education law.

  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
  • Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
  • Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups
  • Possess knowledge of service needs.
  • Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
  • Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
