Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council’s Newark Family Support and Safeguarding Team seeks an Advanced Practitioner to lead practice and support colleagues while managing complex child and family cases. You will ensure high-quality assessments, planning and interventions for positive outcomes.

Prospective candidates should have a recognised social work qualification and SW England registration, plus at least three years post-qualification experience in statutory work. Secondment and DBS checks apply.

Responsibilities

As An Advanced Practitioner, Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Leading with Love: Provide practice leadership, mentoring, and coaching to colleagues, especially those who are alternatively qualified.

• Team Support: Assist in the allocation of work and identify development needs across the team.

• Collaborative Care: Work closely with Team Managers to provide operational support and drive continuous improvement.

To Thrive In This Role, You Will Need

• A recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• A minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in child and family statutory social work.
• Demonstrable expertise in complex casework and assessments, including court-related assessments.
• Experience in supervising or mentoring others, with strong analytical and decision-making skills.
