The Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse practicing within their scope of practice, aligned with jurisdictional regulations and organizational bylaws. They manage patient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and develop appropriate care plans. The role involves providing leadership, consultation, and mentorship within their clinical area, participating in division, department, and organization-wide initiatives to advance the role of advanced practice nursing.

All practice is based on legal scope, nursing standards, organizational policies, and applicable laws. The APRN collaborates with physicians, acts within protocols, and maintains responsibilities for patient management, leadership, and mentorship. They support community health relationships and are credentialed and licensed to perform in an expanded nursing role.
