Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Cardiology specialist nurse with advanced practice to join the Heart Failure Service at Band 7. The role is full-time and permanent, 36 hours per week, with responsibilities across patient management and care pathways in collaboration with consultant teams.

You will hold advanced clinical knowledge, lead a defined patient group, and work within national guidelines, delivering safe, effective, person-centred care in a fast-evolving cardiology service.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate diploma in Advanced Practice or equivalent is required.
• Extensive cardiology experience in clinical settings is expected.
• Advanced clinical skills including ECG rhythm recognition and prescribing in practice.

Responsibilities

• Make independent, informed decisions regarding patient management.
• Hold responsibility for a defined group of heart failure patients and pathways of care.
• Collaborate with Consultant teams to meet departmental targets and standards.
• Deliver patient-centred care and work with community and GP services to national guidelines.
