Overview

Advanced Physiotherapist within Burns/Plastics/Head and Neck Team. The department provides tertiary referrals from across the South East of England with a network of spoke sites at district general hospitals, enabling consultants to offer expertise with routine treatments and consultations close to patients’ homes. Video-led virtual consultations are available to reduce travel where possible.

Main duties of the job

You will be a Physiotherapist delivering advanced clinical assessments and treatments to a caseload of adult patients on rehabilitation pathways. You will create and deliver bespoke training to less experienced therapists, students, support workers and the wider MDT. You will work within an MDT with Speech and Language Therapists, Dietitians, Nursing Team, Psychological Therapists and Medical Colleagues (including Surgeons, Anaesthetists and Intensivists). The post includes peer support from two other Band 7 Physiotherapists and the Therapy Services Manager.

You will contribute to clinical governance meetings and work on service development within the clinical areas. The role requires excellent clinical skills, proactivity and motivation, and a passion for maintaining high standards of care for patients. There is an opportunity to lead and align initiatives across the therapy department and collaborate with other teams.
