Advanced Occupational Therapist – Integrated Services East

Advanced Community Occupational Therapist/ Base - Upton, Slough/ 0.6 wte part time / no 'On call' or weekend work / MSc level training supported / Free staff parking. Patient experience and Staff Health & wellbeing is high on our agenda; the working days/times for the successful candidate can be flexible.

We have an exciting Band 7 opportunity within our Integrated Services based at Upton Hospital across Community and Assessment and Rehabilitation in East Berkshire, and are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative candidate.

For this post you will need to have good, solid experience of working as an Occupational Therapist in the rehabilitation of older adults at Band 6 level. A good working knowledge of how the different community, primary and secondary care services, Local Authorities and voluntary services work together is also key. The post will involve a mixture of clinical and management duties.

As well as working clinically, this post will support the implementation of Occupational Therapy within the Integrated Services East, promoting learning, service innovation and leadership.

To be successful in this position you will need the ability to work independently and as a team player; You will work closely with the Integrated Services locality leads and alongside other community services leads and the Integrated Service manager.

Main duties of the job

• Effectively run Community Occupational Therapy services in terms of service implementation
• Take on a caseload of Community Occupational Therapy patients
• Support in the training of clinical staff
• Contribute to and help implement service development

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications/Training

• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
• HCPC Registration
• RCOT membership
• Formal post-graduate qualification in a relevant Community and Rehabilitation area

Continuous Professional Development

• Evidence of CPD in a portfolio including attendance at recent post- graduate courses relevant to the clinical field / reflective practice in relevant clinical field

Previous Experience

• Substantial relevant post graduate experience as a senior Occupational Therapist
• Post graduate experience within specialist areas across frailty/ rehabilitation/ community settings
• Experience of lone working
• Involvement and awareness of QI process
• Substantial experience in the development of staff and teaching others.

• Experience with working with external agencies e.g Social Services
