Advanced Nurse Practitioner Band 7 / Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner Band 6 Annex 21 Paragraph 2 (i)

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Acute Medical Unit to join the team as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

The ANP role within AMU provides diverse opportunities to contribute to the care of the patient admitted into the ward. You will work closely with the medical and nursing team to provide advanced high quality and evidence based person centred care to all patients. The role is diverse with different challenges and there are many opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge. The ability to adapt to different pressures is essential due to the changing environment.

AMU is a dynamic and innovative healthcare environment which provides acute and emergency care to patients presenting with a variety of medical conditions, and also encompasses an Ambulatory Assessment Area and Short Stay Medicine. The post-holder will work with a range of services and healthcare professionals across the interface of acute and primary care.

You will work within a clinical team that values patient safety and the delivery of safe, effective high quality care within a challenging acute assessment environment. The vision is to have a 24 hour a day ANP model within AMU.

Candidates should preferably have relevant experience within acute medicine with the ability to be able to demonstrate leadership in previous roles. Ideally you will be working as an ANP currently with relevant qualification including non medical prescribing or be able to show ability to study at masters level. Applications will be considered with other relevant experience. Depending on previous experience / qualification successful candidate will be placed on band 6 or Band 7 pay scale.

The successful candidate will be a valued team member who will be supported by established advanced nurse practitioners and the leadership team and there will be a structured approach to education. Clinical supervision is supported by the medical team.

Unscheduled care, of which the Acute Medicine Unit is part of, sits within Clinical Care Group One, Medicine Division in NHS Tayside.

You should be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the NMC of the UK NMC Register.

Hours of work are: 36 hours per week. 12 hour shift pattern – this role will be day / night rotation once established in role.
