Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to deliver autonomous ANP-led sessions across Steyning and surrounding clinics. You will provide advanced assessments, triage and same-day care within well-supported GP/community services.

Flexible sessional work allows weekday/evening/weekend bookings, with full clinical autonomy and a clear patient pathway. Enhanced DBS clearance is required to join our regional locum network.

Qualifications

• Proven diagnostic reasoning ability and strong communication skills.
• Autonomy in managing clinics with oversight as needed.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and workflows.
• Experience in primary care settings is preferred.
• Clinical decision making within scope of competence.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Run autonomous ANP-led clinics within primary care settings.

This role offers structured sessions within established primary care clinics, giving you full autonomy over your clinical practice while maintaining consistency in your working environment.

You will deliver advanced assessments, manage same-day presentations and support routine patient demand within well-supported GP and community services. Each clinic provides clear pathways, ensuring a safe and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Running autonomous ANP-led clinics within primary care settings
• Managing acute, undifferentiated and minor illness presentations
• Conducting telephone and face-to-face triage
• Prescribing safely within scope of competence
• Reviewing results and handling routine follow-up actions
• Recording accurate clinical notes within the clinic’s digital systems

Requirements

• Level 7 Advanced Practice qualification
• Independent Prescribing (V300)
• Experience in GP, urgent care or community settings
• Strong diagnostic reasoning and communication skills
• Confidence working autonomously in new environments
• Enhanced DBS clearance
