Job description

Advanced Nurse Practitioner - Nottingham Division

Duties will include:

  1. Responding to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment, and referral where appropriate.
  2. Provision of appropriate preventative health care and advice within the context of primary health care.
  3. Prescribing and reviewing medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs, in accordance with evidence-based practice, national and practice protocols, and within scope of practice.
  4. Maintaining the patients' clinical records to a high standard and safeguarding the confidentiality of medical notes.
  5. Contributing to evaluation, audit, and clinical standard setting.
  6. Ensuring effective teamwork by attending relevant meetings and working cooperatively with staff.
  7. Undertaking clinically related administration for medical service delivery.
  8. Teaching, developing, and supporting healthcare professionals.
  9. Providing cover for absent colleagues during leave or sickness.
  10. Providing additional emergency services within clinical competence when necessary, without jeopardizing patient care.
  11. Undertaking any other duties appropriate to the post and within clinical competence.
