Job summary

Prospect Health is seeking an experienced ANP/ACP for an Urgent Care Centre in the Midlands. You will deliver patient-centred assessment and treatment, with autonomy to use your advanced clinical skills within a multidisciplinary primary care team.

The post requires current NMC registration, minor illness/injury qualifications, and non-medical prescribing (or progress toward it). You will lead care decisions, support governance, and contribute to service improvements, while maintaining high

Qualifications

  • Experience in a primary care environment.
  • Current NMC registration.
  • Advanced clinical practice status or working towards it.
  • Minor illness and minor injury qualifications are essential.
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification or working towards it.
  • Strong assessment, diagnosis and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out comprehensive clinical assessments and take patient histories.
  • Diagnose and treat minor illnesses and injuries.
  • Make safe, evidence-based clinical decisions and escalate when necessary.
  • Develop and evaluate treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with GPs, nurses and the primary care team to provide joined-up patient care.
  • Support clinical standards, governance and quality improvement.
  • Provide clinical leadership and share expertise with colleagues.
  • Contribute to improving patient experience and outcomes.

At this Urgent Care Centre, you'll be part of a team delivering accessible, high-quality care to patients who need assessment and treatment for urgent presentations. You'll have the autonomy to use your advanced clinical skills while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary primary care team.

What you'll be doing
  • Carrying out comprehensive clinical assessments and taking patient histories.
  • Diagnosing and treating a wide range of minor illnesses and injuries.
  • Making safe, evidence-based clinical decisions and recognising when onward referral or escalation is required.
  • Developing and evaluating appropriate treatment plans.
  • Working closely with GPs, nurses and the wider practice team to provide joined-up patient care.
  • Supporting clinical standards, governance and quality improvement.
  • Providing clinical leadership and sharing your expertise with colleagues where appropriate.
  • Helping us continually improve the experience and outcomes of the patients we care for.
What you'll bring
  • Experience working within a primary care environment.
  • Current NMC registration.
  • Advanced clinical practice experience, or be actively working towards advanced clinical practice status.
  • Minor illness and minor injury qualifications - essential.
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification, or be working towards this.
  • The ability to demonstrate strong assessment, diagnosis and clinical decision-making skills.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and clinical governance.
