The Methodist Church in Britain seeks an experienced advanced nurse in a General Practice setting, focused on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions with independent prescribing responsibilities. You will work with the GP team across St Martin's Gate Surgery and St Peter's branch, contributing to vaccinations and QOF targets.

Essential qualifications include a nursing or health degree, an MSc or equivalent, and an independent prescribing qualification.

An advanced clinical role within the General Practice team at St Martin's Gate Surgery, which looks after around 14,300 patients. The post centres on assessing, diagnosing and treating patients with acute and chronic conditions, from history taking through to review of care, alongside prescribing. Clinicians also cover sessions at the branch surgery at St Peter's and support practice targets such as QOF and vaccination campaigns. An independent prescribing qualification is required.

What the job involves

• Deliver advanced-level holistic nursing care, from history taking and clinical assessment through to diagnosis, treatment and evaluation
• Assess, diagnose and treat patients with a range of acute and chronic medical conditions
• Prescribe medicines and appliances according to patient need
• Work collaboratively with the General Practice team to meet patient needs
• Refer patients to other specialities or members of the multidisciplinary team where appropriate
• Contribute to practice QOF targets and disease registers
• Contribute to vaccination campaigns
