Job summary

Honiton Surgery is seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our forward-thinking practice serving East Devon. You will deliver same-day access, lead acute minor illness clinics and manage patients with acute, undifferentiated conditions, working within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Salary will be offered between Band 7 and Band 8a equivalent, depending on experience and qualifications. This role supports clinical governance and service improvement within the practice.

  • Conduct advanced clinical assessments and decision making.

  • Order and interpret investigations.
  • Deliver face-to-face and telephone consultations.
  • Collaborate with GPs, Pharmacists and other nursing staff.
  • Support quality improvement and clinical governance.

Honiton Surgery is seeking an experienced and motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our friendly, forward-thinking Practice, serving approximately 18,500 patients across East Devon. As a well-established Practice and lead Practice within our Primary Care Network, we are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care through innovation, collaboration and continuous service improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity for an autonomous clinician who is passionate about primary care and wishes to work within a highly supportive multidisciplinary team. You will play a key role in delivering same-day access services, leading acute minor illness clinics and managing patients presenting with acute, minor illness and undifferentiated conditions.

Salary will be offered between Band 7 and Band 8a equivalent, depending on experience, clinical capability and whether a recognised Advanced Clinical Practice qualification has been obtained.

Main duties of the job

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will:

  • Independently assess, diagnose and manage acute and minor illness presentations.
  • Undertake advanced clinical assessment and clinical decision-making.
  • Prescribe safely and effectively as an Independent Prescriber.
  • Request, interpret and act upon appropriate investigations.
  • Deliver both face-to-face and telephone consultations.
  • Work collaboratively within the Practice Duty Team alongside GPs, Pharmacists, and Nursing colleagues.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance and service development initiatives.
