Job description

We are looking for an experienced ANP to join our friendly and supportive team at Excel Primary Care. We seek an enthusiastic, well-motivated, flexible individual with excellent clinical and communication skills who will play an active role in the services offered to our patients.

The advertised post is part time hours we are looking to offer between 4-8 sessions per week. As a practice we offer a late night clinic (6:30pm-8:30pm), flexibility on working hours would be desirable.

Main duties of the job
  • Undertake a variety of duties, including surgeryconsultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home,checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork andcorrespondence in a timely fashion
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions inrelation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from otherhealth care workers within the organisation
  • Screeningpatients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
  • Developingcare plans for health in consultation with patients and in line withcurrent practice disease management protocols
  • Providingcounselling and health education
  • Recordingclear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
  • Compilingand issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoidinghand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
  • Prescribingin accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically)whenever this is clinically appropriate
  • Ingeneral, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normalduties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primarycare.
  • Awarenessof and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g.prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety

A First Contact Physio,Clinical Pharmacists, Paramedics, Practice Manager, Assistant PracticeManagers, and an experienced reception/administration staff which make up agreat team.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be an experienced practitioner whoworks within their professional boundaries to provide care for patients throughinitial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment andevaluation of care. The role of the ANP will be to support the Partnersand other clinicians and healthcare professionals within the practice todeliver a full range of primary care services to our patients.
