A leading healthcare provider is seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Practitioner to deliver outstanding care in a supportive environment. This role focuses on same-day, medically urgent patients, overseeing assessments and clinical decisions. This is an exciting new ANP/ACP role, working for the Dow Surgery based in Redditch. The role will be predominatelyfocused on same day, medically urgent patients.
Advanced nurse/clinical practitioners work autonomously within thepractice using their enhanced clinical assessment and treatment skills, toprovide first point of contact for patients presenting with undifferentiated,undiagnosed problems relating to minor illness or injury, abdominal pains,chest pains and headaches. They are autonomous in making decisions based onassessment, diagnosis and interpretation of test results. They canindependently prescribe appropriate medication, evaluate or refer to other specialistsif necessary. ANP/ACPs in this role will focus solely on medically urgentpatients.
This is a part time position 21 - 26hpw Mon - Fri with Bank Holiday and Saturday flexibility
Our team consists of 4 GP partners, 6 Salaried GPs, 2 pharmacists, 5 Nurses, a HCA and Phlebotomist supported by a fantastic administrative team. We are passionate about teaching undergraduate students from Birmingham Medical School, FY2 Doctors and GP Trainees.

Key duties and responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the AdvancedNurse Practitioner. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out othertasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffinglevels:
1. Manage patients presenting with a range of acute andchronic medical conditions, providing subject matter expert advice
2. Implement and evaluate individual specialised treatmentplans for chronic disease patients
3. Identify, manage and support patients at risk ofdeveloping long-term conditions, preventing adverse effects to the patientshealth
4. Provide advanced, specialist nursing care to patients asrequired in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and the NSF
5. Undertake the collection of pathological specimens?
6. Request pathology services as necessary
7. Process and interpret pathology and other test results asrequired?
8. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction withextant legislation
9. Ensure SNOMED CT codes are used effectively
10. Chaperone patients where necessary
11. Prioritise health issues and intervene appropriately
12. Support the team in dealing with clinical emergencies
13. Recognise, assess and refer patients presenting withmental health needs
14. Be an extended and supplementary prescriber, adhering toguidance
15. Support patients in the use of their prescribedmedicines or over the counter medicines (within own scope of practice),reviewing annually as required
16. Contribute to practice targets (QOF, etc.), complyingwith local and regional guidance
17. Liaise with external services/agencies to ensure thepatient is supported appropriately (vulnerable patients, etc.)
18. Delegate clinical responsibilities appropriately(ensuring safe practice and that the task is within the scope of practice ofthe individual)
19. Support the clinical team with all safeguarding mattersin accordance with local and national policies
20. Understand practice and local policies for substanceabuse and addictive behaviour, referring patients appropriately
21. Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate
