Job summary

Carbon60 is seeking a Research Assistant / Advanced Research Assistant to join the Scientific Services team in Oxford. You will support Novo Nordisk TIM programme with molecular biology techniques and robust lab operations, contributing to high standards of quality and safety.

The role offers training and development within a collaborative laboratory environment, with opportunities to take on greater autonomy and lead specific work packages as you progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level qualification in Biological Sciences or equivalent.
• Experience with routine molecular biology techniques including plasmid DNA preparation and cell sample preparation.
• Experience working in a laboratory environment with SOPs, risk assessments and Work Instructions.
• Experience using LIMS and ELNs.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform cell culture activities and sample preparation/storage.
• Support in vitro workflows including prep of samples for RT-PCR and qPCR analysis.
• Undertake CRISPR screening studies.
• Conduct plasmid DNA preparation using miniprep and maxiprep methods.
• Support viral production and transduction activities.
• Perform imaging, data generation and analysis.
• Participate in assay optimisation and development.
• Analyse results and record data in LIMS/ELN; contribute to documentation.
