Job summary
Safran Actuation Systems UK seeks an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Technical Expert in Metrology to set the measurement strategy and drive the deployment of advanced inspection solutions. You will lead capability development, validate technologies and embed robust measurement plans across NPI and industrialisation.
In this role you will champion connected metrology with digital manufacturing platforms, leverage SPC data and mentor engineering teams to improve process control and product
Qualifications
- Degree or apprenticeship in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or Metrology.
- Extensive experience in manufacturing metrology and inspection technology.
- Experience leading trials and production implementation.
- Strong data analysis, critical-thinking and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the manufacturing metrology strategy and roadmap across the business.
- Act as the technical expert for complex measurement and inspection challenges, supporting capability development.
- Develop and implement advanced metrology technologies and lead feasibility studies and validation programmes.
- Embed measurement requirements in NPI, APQP and industrialisation activities.
- Advance connected metrology with MES integration and digital manufacturing platforms.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams and drive continuous improvement.
