Job summary

The University of Southampton's Novel Advanced Materials group, within the Electronics and Computer Science department, seeks a Specialist Technician to operate gloveboxes, tube furnaces, CVD, ALD and other glass-related equipment. Training will be provided, with opportunities to advance through the university's development-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a laboratory setting.
• Degree in a science-related subject or equivalent industry experience.
• Desirable knowledge of material synthesis and glass fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Novel and Compound Glass equipment to support production of chalcogenide precursors and glasses.
• Work within Zepler Institute Cleanroom facilities and be supported by the team.
• Attend Research Technical Professional training events as needed.
