Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust invites applications for an Advanced IBD fellowship, a Senior Clinical Fellow post in Gastroenterology. The fixed-term 12-month contract offers cross-campus out-of-hours work and supports an ambitious trainee aiming to pursue a subspecialty career in inflammatory bowel disease.

You will work under eight consultants with 4–5 clinical sessions weekly in IBD clinics and endoscopy, plus time for research and service development projects.

Qualifications

• Completion of, or in the final years of, higher specialist training in Gastroenterology (ST6+ or equivalent).
• Evidence of competence in diagnostic upper and lower GI endoscopy.
• Experience of multidisciplinary team (MDT) working.
• Previous involvement in IBD-related research.

Responsibilities

• Gain advanced clinical and endoscopic experience in IBD within a high-volume centre.
• Participate in outpatient clinics, MDT meetings and weekly acute IBD clinics.
• Undertake endoscopy sessions with a focus on disease assessment and therapy.
• Contribute to service development and digital health projects.
• Engage in IBD research and national/international presentations where possible.
