We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join the NHS Forth Valley Community Nutrition and Dietetic Team in a unique post developed through collaboration between Clinical and Healthier Future Services. This role combines service and quality improvement leadership within the team with a clinical leadership role managing a highly specialist caseload.

Service Improvement role

The post holder will work closely with key partners across Community Services and Primary Care to help shape the future development of the Nutrition and Dietetic Service, taking a lead role in improvement initiatives with support from the Team Lead and AHP Coordinator.

As a service we are increasing the proportion of our work that is focused on universal and targeted, preventionled approaches, addressing health inequalities and supporting those at greatest risk of dietrelated ill health. This post will stretch and develop skills across all four pillars of practice.

This role will initially

• Support primary care dietetic scoping
• Coordinate and support Short Life Working Group priorities across Forth Valley Nutrition and Dietetics
• Strengthen pathway development and integration across prevention, community and clinical services

Clinical role -

The post holder will work clinically across the Community Dietetic Service, supporting predominantly complex nutritional support and frailty caseloads, while also providing cover across other service areas as required.

The post holder will support the clinical and personal development of staff working across nutritional support, frailty, and general community services. Most of the work will involve outpatient services and domiciliary visits, with the team based in Stirling Health & Care Village for professional supervision, peer support, and staff wellbeing.

These two key elements of the role complement each other, making this an exciting and transformational opportunity that will help shape the future direction of the Forth Valley service. NHS Forth Valley is committed to providing Value Based Health and Care and to using Quality Improvement methodology (QI) to support this work. The post holder will have access to local teams with expertise in these areas.

Experience in service improvement work is highly desirable, and there will be further opportunities for development within the role.

Experience in community dietetics is also highly desirable, although it is not essential, as we will provide a supportive induction along with in-house and formal training opportunities.

Based in Stirling Health & Care Village, this post works across the Forth Valley region. The successful candidate will join a supportive team of Dietetic Team Leads and Band 5 and Band 6 Dietitians, with additional support from Band 3 and Band 4 Support Workers and administrative staff to help deliver excellent patient care. There are also strong professional links with Forth Valley Acute Dietetic Services Public Health Nutrition Team and the Learning Disability Dietitians, offering a wider network of support and collaboration

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to deliver high-quality education, a commitment to personal development, and a strong team-focused approach.

This post will be based in Stirling Community Hospital, with some services potentially delivered from other NHS Forth Valley sites and some opportunities for remote working. NHS Forth Valley is centrally located in Scotland, with excellent transport links, easy access to major cities, and beautiful surrounding countryside.
