Advanced Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist Neuro - Community
Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become an Advanced Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist within East Cheshire NHS Trust's community Neuro Team.
The role will involve working with neurological patients across East Cheshire. We welcome applications from experienced Physiotherapists with a keen interest in working within an integrated community team, with proven clinical expert experience in neurological rehabilitation. The successful applicant would be the clinical lead for the team, helping to direct and develop the current team members.
Hours per week: 30
Main duties of the job
- To provide clinical expertise, making decisions about the best course of action for patients' care. This will involve assessing patients and providing personalised rehabilitation plans, whilst working alongside multiple agencies, to determine the best management plan for patients.
- To provide leadership and clinical supervision to junior staff members.
- To deliver supportive patient rehabilitation programmes, in ways that facilitate behavioural change, optimise individuals' physical activity, mobility, fulfilment of personal goals and independence, and that ensure patients can be maintained safely within their own homes, if possible.
- To maintain and develop links with the wider multi-disciplinary team to support and improve neuro community rehabilitation pathways across East Cheshire.

- Physiotherapy degree /diploma
- Attendance at masters level post graduate courses relevant to Neuro specialism
- Clinical educator training
- Membership of a relevant professional body & related specialist sub-groups
KnowledgeEssential- Post registration knowledge which is relevant to the specialist area (Neuro)
- In-depth knowledge of recent NHS legislation, recommendations for specialist area
- Detailed awareness of the national and local priorities and changing trends in the specialist area
- Proven extensive experience of working within community neurological physiotherapy
