The Pain Management Service is an integrated multidisciplinary service looking after patients with acute and long-term pain, both in an inpatient and outpatient setting. The post holder will work alongside Consultants, Specialist Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Clinical Psychologists. The post holder will see patients in outpatients who are suffering with persistent pain. They will provide a comprehensive biopsychosocial clinical assessment of patients referred to the Pain Service and together with the patient formulate a management plan. The post holder will also provide specialist advice to healthcare professionals managing inpatients at NNUH, where persistent pain is delaying inpatient treatment or preventing discharge from hospital. The post-holder will also provide support for community services, in the form of Advice & Guidance.
