Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join a GP practice in Sherborne. The role offers structured, well-supported clinical sessions in a primary care setting with clear workflows and steady patient demand.

You will work alongside GPs and wider clinical staff to provide comprehensive assessments, deliver safe clinical decisions, and help maintain high-quality patient outcomes. Flexible ad-hoc or regular sessions available, with morning and afternoon clinics.

Qualifications

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner training at Level 7.
• Independent Prescribing qualification desirable (V300 or equivalent).
• Experience in primary care, urgent care or emergency settings.
• Excellent clinical reasoning and patient communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in clinic.
• Enhanced DBS and up-to-date clinical training.

Responsibilities

• Managing same-day and routine ACP appointments.
• Assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of presentations.
• Supporting on-the-day demand through telephone triage.
• Prescribing independently where qualified.
• Actioning results, referrals and follow-up tasks.
• Maintaining accurate and compliant patient records.

Working alongside GPs, Nurses, and wider clinical staff, you will provide comprehensive assessments, deliver safe clinical decisions, and contribute to high-quality patient outcomes. This position is ideal for ACPs who enjoy a mix of urgent care, routine appointments, and clinical triage.
