Job Summary: The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) is a highly skilled healthcare professional who provides expert clinical care and leadership within the general practice. The ACP will work autonomously and collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with acute and chronic conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Practice:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic investigations.
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with practice guidelines and legal requirements.
  • Provide expert clinical advice and support to patients, families, and carers.
  • Leadership and Management:
  • Lead and support clinical initiatives to improve patient care and practice performance.
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff, including nurses and healthcare assistants.

Qualifications

  • Independent prescribing qualification (or willingness to obtain).
