Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (North Wales) is seeking an experienced pharmacist to join the Unscheduled Care Pharmacy Team at Glan Clwyd Hospital on a Band 8a maternity cover secondment for 12 months.

The post involves delivering a high-quality clinical pharmacy service across Unscheduled Care, including ED, AMU, SAU and SDEC, with opportunities to develop leadership, education and service improvement in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• MPharm degree or equivalent is essential for qualification as a pharmacist.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council is required.
• Post graduate MSc/ Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent is desirable.
• Non-medical prescribing qualification (or working towards) is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide an advanced clinical pharmacy service across Unscheduled Care, including ED, AMU, SAU and SDEC.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective and timely use of medicines and support patient flow.
• Contribute to clinical decision-making, medication reconciliation, complex medicines management, prescribing advice and discharge planning.
• Lead and educate junior staff and participate in professional development of the wider clinical team.
• Engage in leadership, service development, audit, quality improvement and research activities.
• Work with digital and informatics teams to develop and use integrated electronic systems for medicines safety and continuity of care.
• Support workforce planning and operational management of the Unscheduled Care pharmacy service.
• Act as a role model for advanced clinical practice and patient-centred care.

Formation

MPharm degree or equivalent
