Job Title: Children & Families Social Worker – Bradford South (Team 1)
Location: Bradford (Hybrid working – office attendance required for key tasks/team days)
Duration: 3 Months (with potential for extension)

About the Role

Bradford Children and Families Trust is seeking an experienced and committed Social Worker to join Team 1 in the Bradford South Children & Families Service. This role is vital in supporting children, young people, and families through effective assessment, intervention, and care planning.

The service operates a hybrid working model, with flexible remote working supported, although attendance at the office is expected for specific tasks, team collaboration, and as service needs dictate.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a varied caseload of children and families in need of support, protection, or care planning

Undertake assessments in line with statutory frameworks (e.g. Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children)

Develop and implement effective care plans that safeguard and promote the welfare of children

Work in partnership with families, carers, and multi-agency professionals

Attend court as required and prepare detailed reports

Ensure timely and accurate recording on the case management system

Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and contribute to a supportive team culture

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in frontline children’s social care

Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding legislation, and best practice

Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills

Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment
