Job Description

Role: Advanced Biomedical Scientist - Biochemistry

Location: London

Contract: Full time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £58,000

A brilliant private Laboratory is seeking an experienced Advanced Biomedical Scientist in Biochemistry to join their team.

Main duties:

• Accurately process samples, and monitor and resolve outstanding lists
• Ensure Validation / authorising queue is monitored regularly and there are no build ups
• Proactively manage the flow between specimen reception and Chemistry efficiently
• Communicate effectively with Consultant Biochemists and ensure results needing clinical escalation happens promptly
• Actively support training of junior staff and Trainee BMS staff
• Draw up staff rotas for section cover
• Ensure all equipment in Biochemistry is working correctly
• Review and revision of SOPs and other documents

Requirements:

• BSc. Biomedical Science
• Valid HCPC Registration with no restrictions
• Member of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences
• Extensive knowledge of Clinical Biochemistry with at least 2 years experience at Band 6 level
