Job summary

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a 12-month Advanced Abdominal Wall Fellowship at North Devon District Hospital. This post-CCT fellowship is designed for surgeons who have completed higher surgical training and wish to undertake advanced training in complex hernia surgery and abdominal wall reconstruction at a national centre of excellence.

Qualifications

• Completion of specialist General Surgery training (Colorectal/Upper GI/General Surgery or equivalent).
• FRCS or equivalent is required and GMC registration is mandatory.
• ST8 competency or equivalent must be achieved.

Responsibilities

• Advanced management of complex abdominal wall hernias at a national centre.
• Participation in a weekly abdominal wall MDT and bespoke patient pathways.
• Engage in research programs and contribute to service development.
