Adults Social Worker – Safeguarding #000A1F661

Mental Health Social Worker – Commissioning & Review Officer (x2)
Salford – Prescott House (Little Hulton) & Ramsgate House (Lower Broughton)
Interim | Adult Social Care | Office-Based with Some Flexibility

Semester Recruitment is working with Salford City Council to recruit two experienced Social Workers for their Community Mental Health Services as Commissioning and Review Officers.

These roles are based within integrated community mental health teams (CMHTs) as part of a Section 75 partnership with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, delivering Adult Social Care within a multidisciplinary framework.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Completing statutory 12-month reviews of mental health care packages
  2. Ensuring compliance with the Care Act and Section 117 of the Mental Health Act
  3. Delivering high-quality, person-centred, and strengths-based social care interventions
  4. Working collaboratively with other Review Officers across Salford’s CMHTs
  5. Managing out-of-area placement reviews and maintaining accurate case records
  6. Contributing to the effective commissioning of services, promoting outcomes and value for money

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in adult mental health or statutory social care roles
  • Strong knowledge of Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007)
  • Ability to travel across Salford and out-of-area placements (car driver essential)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to undergo employment history and reference checks as per local authority standards

This is primarily office-based at Prescott House or Ramsgate House, with some hybrid working depending on service needs. The team environment is collaborative and supportive.
