Job description

Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.

MCC requires 2 full-time social workers in a Learning Disability Service in South Manchester.

We are looking for experienced social workers who have worked with people with learning disabilities, and have knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and best interests assessments, alongside risk management and multi-agency working.

Work is primarily based in the office in Wythenshawe, although home-based working is an option. Duty cover is for one full week, all of which will be office-based. The candidate must have statutory experience and experience working with people with learning disabilities. The casework will include care act assessments, support planning, capacity assessments, best interests, and safeguarding. You are expected to follow our policies and processes.

Essential criteria:

  1. Degree in Social Work
  2. SWE Registration
  3. Right to work within the UK

Additional requirements:

  1. A professional qualification in social work
  2. Social Work England registration
  3. Enhanced DBS/Update service
  4. References for the last 5 years of employment
