Job description

Do you have an interest in supporting adults with learning disabilities to enable them to lead a more independent life? Are you enthusiastic, resilient, and driven to enrich and make a difference in the lives of these people?

Vetro Social Care are actively seeking experienced Learning Disabilities Support Worker to work within an award winning service located in the outskirts of Llanwit Major. The service is a bespoke specialist service for up to 12 people who are aged from 18 and upwards with autistic spectrum conditions and associated complex needs. You will be assisting residents through a care pathway to help them live as independently as possible.

This service is across a series of beautiful converted stone barns that provides a range of interior-designed living environments including sole occupancy self-contained apartments and 2, 3 and 4-bed communal living areas.

Overview:

  • Title: Learning Disabilities Support Worker
  • Location: Llanwit Major
  • Job Type: Flexible agency work and block bookings
  • Shifts: Flexible pattern available, pick and choose the shifts you want every week 8:00AM - 8:30PM / 8:00PM - 8:30AM
  • 12 service users
  • Pay: £13.68 per hour (including holiday pay)
  • Immediate starts available

The role:

What you'll be doing as a Learning Disabilities Support Worker - You will provide therapeutic care and support to patients with autistic spectrum conditions and associated complex needs which includes observing, monitoring, and keeping a record of patient conditions, treating each person with dignity, compassion, and honesty. You will be helping with their Progression through a care pathway to live as independently as possible. You will have the support of a team of multi-professionals.

The candidate:

What you'll need to be successful as a Adults Learning Disability Support Worker -

  • A desire to create positive outcomes for adults with Learning disabilities
  • Empathetic, caring and resilient nature
  • At least 6 months experience of working within a social care setting
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
  • TMVA certificate - If you do not have the required training it is mandatory that you attend our specialist 3 day PMVA training course. This course usually costs £250 or more. We are able to offer this to you at a highly discounted price of £75! (We pay the remainder).
