Job overview

The Acute Occupational Therapy Inpatient Team provides assessment and treatment programmes to clients on the three Adults inpatient wards (Sunflower, Tulip and Daisy). The Team offers both Specialist Therapy assessments and a needs-led, client-centred activity and therapy programme on the wards and in the therapy department nearby.

Clients often present with acute or enduring mental health symptoms, sometimes with co-existing physical diagnoses. Some are detained under the Mental Health Act and require support to reintegrate into the community post-admission.

The therapy involves functional assessments and providing professional advice that informs risk assessments and discharge plans, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.

The Team Leader provides professional leadership to ensure integrated occupational therapy services across the wards.
