The starting salary for this role is £52,942 per annum, working 36 hours per week.

This is a 12-month secondment opportunity.

We seek an Assistant Team Manager (Social Worker) to join our Reigate and Banstead Locality Team. The team, based in The Woodhatch Centre, handles duties including assessing and reviewing residents of Reigate and Banstead. This management role involves direct line management of up to eight staff, covering other ATMs in their absence, and participating in rota duties such as Duty, CPMM, SBPRG, and weekly waiting list screening.

About the Team

The Reigate and Banstead Locality Team is a high-performing team led by a senior and a team manager, supported by assistant team managers to ensure timely adult social care services to residents.

About the Role

This role involves leading complex casework, applying legislation and best practices, guiding decision-making, managing risk, and supporting team development. As a safeguarding lead, you'll collaborate with senior colleagues to address practice concerns, supervise staff, foster partnerships, and contribute to organizational development, including budget management when necessary.

Shortlisting Criteria

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Qualified social worker status, post-qualification training, and Social Work England registration
  • Significant post-qualification experience in social care and understanding of social care and health policies
  • Knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation, including the Mental Capacity Act and NHS Continuing Healthcare Framework
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures
  • Excellent communication skills for team management and partnership development
  • A commitment to positive, community-focused outcomes
