Job summary

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Recognised AMHP qualification (Approved Mental Health Professional).
• Substantial experience conducting Mental Health Act assessments.
• In-depth knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007), Care Act 2014, and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
• Strong decision-making skills under pressure and in high-risk situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Enhanced DBS Certificate (must be on the Update Service).

• Conduct Mental Health Act assessments and make informed decisions regarding detention or alternative care pathways.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including healthcare professionals, emergency services, and community support networks.
• Offer specialist advice and support to colleagues on mental health legislation and procedures.
• Ensure full compliance with the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007), Care Act 2014, and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
• Manage complex caseloads, ensuring individuals and their families receive appropriate interventions and care.
• Maintain accurate and timely case notes and reports in line with statutory and local authority requirements.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of service policies and best practices.
