We are looking for an experienced Band 7 Voice Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work in the community and support the Joint ENT-SLT Voice Clinic

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.

Main duties of the job
  • To provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy input to the UHCW Voice Clinic, run jointly with ENT bimonthly.
  • To provide specialist voice assessment, treatment and review of patients referred into the service. This will predominantly be within the clinic but will also include patients' own homes and other settings.
  • To provide specialist voice supervision for Speech and Language Therapists within the team.
  • To support with assessment, treatment and review of patients referred into the service with other needs (dysphagia, communication) as required.
  • To provide expert advice and guidance to patients, carers, health and social care professionals and other stakeholders relating to the management of voice disorders.
  • To be involved in identifying gaps in the voice service and assisting with service improvement to develop the service in line with national and local strategies.
  • To support and contribute toward service development and meeting Key Performance Indicators.

Job responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced, HCPC registered SLT to join our team, providing clinically reasoned assessment and patient centered treatment to people with voice disorders to enable improved quality of life, promote rehabilitation, self-management to prevent future deterioration.

We have a strong focus on clinical governance and provide a supportive framework for further learning.

You will be supporting the team lead of a small, dedicated team of SLTs within the planned therapy service, providing them with support and supervision.

  • Physical Effort There is a requirement for; o Sitting, standing, and walking during every working day. o Repetitive movements on a regular basis. o Pushing/pulling of wheelchairs or transfer equipment as required. o Moving and handling of equipment daily. o Driving between patient visits
  • Mental Effort There is a requirement to carry out assessments, perform documentation and provide reports on a daily basis.
