Job description

Job Title: Adult Social Worker – Newcastle Adults Team

Location: Newcastle
Pay Rate: £28 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary/Contract

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Adult Social Worker to join the Newcastle Adults Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals who are passionate about supporting adults with complex needs. The successful candidate will have experience in adult social care and will be expected to work closely with individuals, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment and Care Planning: Undertake assessments of adult service users, ensuring that care plans are tailored to meet individual needs and are in line with statutory requirements.
  2. Safeguarding: Work in line with safeguarding protocols to protect vulnerable adults from harm and abuse.
  3. Multi-disciplinary Collaboration: Liaise with health professionals, housing providers, and other relevant agencies to ensure comprehensive care packages.
  4. Case Management: Manage a caseload of complex cases, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  5. Support and Empowerment: Advocate for service users, empowering them to make decisions about their care and promoting independence wherever possible.
  6. Review and Monitoring: Review care plans regularly to ensure that they remain relevant to service users' needs and adapt them as necessary.
  7. Compliance: Ensure that all practice is compliant with relevant policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.

Key Requirements:

  1. Qualified Social Worker: Must hold a Social Work degree or equivalent and be registered with Social Work England.
  2. Experience: At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in adult social work, ideally within an adult safeguarding or community care setting.
  3. Knowledge: Strong knowledge of adult safeguarding, mental capacity, the Care Act 2014, and relevant legislation.
  4. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with service users, carers, and colleagues.
  5. Organisational Skills: Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and meet deadlines.
  6. Driver’s License: A full UK driving license and access to a car for work purposes may be required.
