Overview

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for an Adults Social Worker within the MASH to work full time based in Enfield.

Based in the bubbling heart of Enfield Town, the Enfield office supports a smart working policy and is surrounded by local amenities. The high-tech multi-agency office has good transport links into Central London and is accessible via the M25, A10 and A406. Enfield offers hybrid and flexible working.

The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £48,060 per annum.

The team is the first point of contact for service users, carers and organisations wishing to refer into Adult Social Care for advice, information and community assessment and review.

Responsibilities
  • Work alongside Occupational Therapists and Social Care assessors using a strength-based approach and the three conversation model to promote independence and well-being.
  • Promote service users’ choice and control in accordance with the Care Act, ensuring meaningful, autonomous and self-determined lives.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, producing timely assessments and appropriate support plans.
  • Gather and record information to prioritise queries, resolve problems and signpost to alternative services.
  • Manage complex and emotionally challenging situations with dignity and respect, supporting service users and carers to engage in the assessment process, in line with personalisation and self-directed support principles.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate with members of the public in English, providing advice in accurate spoken and written English; be polite and courteous when conversing with the public.
  • Social Work Qualification and registration with Social Work England; ideally with a minimum of four years post-qualifying practice with emphasis on physical disability, safeguarding and care management. (Best Interest Assessor Qualification and Practice Educator Qualification).
  • Demonstrate professional competence in social work practice, adhering to standards of best practice and codes of conduct in line with Enfield Council policies and Social Work England standards.
  • Knowledge of the legislative framework and good practice guidance underpinning Social Work in Adult Social Care; ability to implement Care Act standards to promote service user choice and good outcomes.
  • Experience of completing assessments and care planning in line with the Care Act, collaborating with partner organisations to enable goals and maximise independence using community assets, assistive technology, equipment or adaptations.
  • Flexibility and imaginative problem-solving in challenging situations to improve outcomes for service users and the organisation.
  • Experience providing professional support and supervision to staff, negotiating case management tasks and supporting supervisees’ performance and development.
