Adults Mental Health Social Worker

ESSENTIAL:

1. Qualified Social Worker with evidence of relevant qualifications
2. Minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience
3. Registered with Social Work England
4. Experience of working in an Adult Social Care statutory setting
5. Knowledge and experience of working with people who have severe and enduring mental ill-health
6. Experience of undertaking assessments of need, undertaking scheduled and unscheduled reviews, creating care-plans and commissioning support to meet identified needs.
7. Experience of statutory safeguarding under s42(1) and s42(2) Care Act
8. Experience of completing Mental Capacity Assessments
9. Knowledge and understanding of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, Equalities Act, Human Rights Act, Data protection and GDPR, Continuing Health Care.
10. Knowledge and understanding of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

12. Gaps in employment history checked
13. Full clean driving license

DESIRABLE:

1. Experience of completing social circumstance reports for Tribunals and Managers Hearings
2. Understanding of risk management within a mental health setting

The Job:

Due to career progressions, Agency Social Worker opportunities are now available within the Mental Health Review Team in Middleton and CMHT West in Rochdale. The role is to undertake social work statutory functions within an Adult Care mental health service. We are co-located with health colleagues and work in a multi-disciplinary way.

We require agency social workers to undertake Strength Based Needs assessments, review packages of care, update care plans, undertake mental capacity assessments where appropriate, undertake safeguarding work where appropriate and facilitate hospital discharges for people who have a severe and enduring mental health diagnosis and who are under secondary mental health services. Individuals may live within the borough of Rochdale or may be placed out of borough. It will be helpful to have an understanding of mental health pathways.

WORKING PATTERN:

37 hours per week

Monday to Friday

There is some scope to work from home with manager agreement, however the role is primarily office based due to the needs of the client group.

You must have:

1. A professional qualification in social work
2. Social Work England registration.
3. Enhanced DBS/Update service.
4. References required for the last 5 years of employment.
