Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking an Adults Social Worker for the Mid Essex area (Chelmsford, Braintree & Maldon) on a permanent full-time basis. The role involves working with adults under the Care Act framework to assess needs, plan support, and safeguard where necessary.

You will work with individuals and their families to understand what matters most, building strong relationships with partner agencies. Travel across Essex is required, and a driving licence or mobility solution is essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Social Worker with Social Work England.
• A driving licence and car, or mobility to meet role requirements, is essential.
• Broad understanding of statutory responsibilities under Care Act.
• Experience of chairing meetings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals, families and carers to identify what matters to them and plan support.
• Frame discussions as assessments, reviews, support planning and safeguarding.
• Listen, understand and help people achieve their goals in a person-centred way.
• Travel around Essex as part of the role.
