Job description

Are you an experienced, enthusiastic, and registered Qualified Social Worker? An incredible opportunity awaits in our Adult Community Teams for both a full-time Social Worker with the Fenland Team and a 30-hour Social Worker with the East Team.

We are looking for committed professionals who thrive on making a difference. Join our established team of passionate, enthusiastic, and committed Social Work and Social Care Practitioners. The Fenland Team operates from Hereward Hall in March, while the East Cambridgeshire Team is based at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Ely, Cambridgeshire.

You will be responsible for a caseload and will need to be experienced in completing Safeguarding Adult Enquiries, assessments, and reviews in a timely manner with older people. You should have experience of record keeping procedures, working as a member of a team, and possess very good organisational skills.

You will also be experienced in working to tight timescales and commissioning cost-effective, personalised support to meet the assessed needs of service users as part of the reviewing process. Managing Safeguarding as part of Making Safeguarding Personal is part of the role and this can be offered as a development opportunity for the post holder.

You would be joining our established team of person-centred, passionate, enthusiastic, and committed Social Work and Social Care Practitioners. You will provide structured, positive supervision to social workers and CCO, supporting complex case work.

You will be responsible for supporting the development of good, evidence-based practice, particularly in key areas such as risk enablement, safeguarding, the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Court of Protection work.

What will you be doing?

Collaborate with partner agencies, including health professionals, to support adults with care and support needs and their carers.

Provide Strengths-Based, evidence-informed assessments and interventions that promote meaningful reviews.

Your work will empower service users to maintain independence, make informed choices, and retain control over their lives, whether in the community or in care settings.

Opportunities for professional development include becoming a Practice Educator or a Best Interest Assessor.

About you

Bring experience working with individuals with complex needs, and a solid understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and relevant legislation.

Be experienced in IT, promoting independence, choice, and control for service users to live at home or in care settings.

  • Are passionate about Social Justice and NHS Continuing Healthcare
  • Are a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Hold a full driver’s license and can travel independently across the county
  • Are flexible and eager to learn
