Job Description

Service Care Solutions is working alongside a booming local authority, based in the West Midlands, which is seeking an experienced Adult Social Care Lawyer to join their team. This role offers the opportunity for remote work, with a preference for those willing to commit to 4 days per week.

Role: Adult Social Care Lawyer
Location: West Midlands
Umbrella Rate: £55-£60ph umbrella
PAYE inc. of holiday rate: £48.41 - £52.76ph
Contract Length: 6 months ongoing

Key Responsibilities of the Adult Social Care Lawyer role:
  • Handle a mixed caseload of adult social care law from start to completion. This will include Court of Protection Proceedings, DoLs, ordinary residence matters, funding and charging disputes, advisory work related to Care Act 2014 responsibilities, Mental Health, and Mental Capacity Acts.
  • Giving advice and drafting legal documents on a range of legal issues, including policy and procedure.
  • As and when required attending Council Committees and Sub-Committees and handling legal and advisory work connected with this.
  • Key Requirements:
  • Be a qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive in England and Wales with 3+ years of PQE in Adult Social Care law.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of Court of Protection Proceedings, court protocols and procedures.
  • Demonstrable understanding of Adult Social Care legislation, relevant case law and guidance including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
