Liaises with: External agencies, learners, delivery staff, partner organisations, awarding bodies, Ofsted
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated ASF Tutor to deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across short courses for adult learners. This role includes both Virtual Classroom and face-to-face delivery within local communities, focusing on sectors including Professinal Services. You will play a key role in supporting learners to achieve their qualifications while ensuring timely marking, clear progression advice, and responsive academic support.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, inclusive training across a range of Level 1 and Level 2 vocational courses
Ensure timely marking and constructive feedback to support learner progression
Contribute to performance KPIs including learner achievement and retention rates
Provide clear advice and guidance to learners regarding progression routes
Respond promptly to learner queries and concerns
Collaborate with tutors, team leaders, and learning support services to improve learner experience
Signpost learners to support services including Life & Progress (wellbeing and financial support)
Qualifications and Experience
Teaching qualification at Level 3 or above
CAVA or equivalent assessor qualification
Experience working as a tutor or trainer in a post-16 or adult learning environment
Demonstrable track record of learner achievement
Familiarity with Ofsted frameworks and inspection readiness
Comfortable using online learning platforms, digital tools, and learner management systems
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote-first model
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience working with adult learners or employability-focused provision
Knowledge of the current adult education landscape
Knowledge and Understanding
A clear understanding of learner needs within adult and further education
Ability to provide careers guidance and advise on next steps
An interest in personal and professional development
Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and inclusive education practices
Skills and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Confidence managing virtual and in-person learning environments
Excellent planning, time management, and administrative skills
Ability to motivate and support diverse learners
Efficient and organised approach to assessment and learner feedback
Adaptable and resilient, with a proactive problem-solving mindset
Performance Expectations
Maintain agreed learner achievement and success rates
Return marked work in line with internal KPIs
