Overview

Adult & Paediatric Crisis Worker – Darlaston. The role of Crisis Worker is to provide dedicated support and care to victims of sexual assault, acting as an advocate for patients to empower them throughout the forensic process and care pathways.

Job responsibilities
  • 1st point of contact for service users.
  • Support process for service users and their families visiting the centre, including preparing the patient and assisting in the collection of forensic evidence.
  • Ensure a high standard of DNA anticontamination and cleaning between forensic cases.
  • Assist patients and liaise with other agencies regarding the management of the service user pathway.
  • Assist with preparation, service user support and act as an advocate during their time at the SARC.
  • Be a key player within the SARC team and wider company network.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Because of the nature of the Sexual Offence Examiner, applications are invited from females only. This post has a genuine occupational qualification under the Sex Discrimination Act, Section 7(2)b and 7(2)e.
  • While the position may be based from one location, additional travel across SARCs may be required; therefore a UK driving licence is required and access to a vehicle.
  • Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting will be required.
