Job Description:

Vetro Social Care is actively seeking experienced adult learning Disability Support Workers to work within services located in Caerphilly County Borough (Blackwood, Ystrad Mynach or Fleur de lis) . The service supports 4 ladies with learning and mobility difficulties with personal care, medication administration, food preparation, accessing the community etc. You will be assisting residents through a care pathway to help them live as independently as possible.

A driver's licence with a vehicle is essential as there will be an element of supporting residents in the community (swimming, shopping, bowling etc).

Overview:

• Title: Full-time Learning Disability Support Worker
• Location: Caerphilly County Borough (Blackwood, Ystrad Mynach or Fleur de lis)
• Job Type: Full-time/ Opportunity to go permanent on a contract basis of 37.5 hours per week
• Shifts: Shift patterns vary from days (7am-3pm) mid shifts (9am-6pm and 5pm-8pm) afternoons 3pm-11pm sleep in shifts and also wake nights (wake nights get 20% enhancement for the 8hr shift)
• Must have full UK driving license
• Must have Practical Manual Handling (or be willing to obtain ASAP)
• Potential for a permanent contract within first 3 months

The role:

What you'll be doing as an adult learning Disability Support Worker

You will provide therapeutic care and support to patients with autistic spectrum conditions and associated complex needs which include observing, monitoring, and keeping a record of patient conditions, treating each person with dignity, compassion, and honesty. You will be helping with their Progression through a care pathway to live as independently as possible. You will have the support of a team of multi-professionals.

• A desire to create positive outcomes for adults with Learning disabilities
• Empathetic, caring and resilient nature
• At least 6 months experience of working within a social care setting
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or are willing to obtain one
• The right to work in the UK
