Qualifications

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialized psychiatric services and consultations to adult patients.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in the management of complex mental health conditions.
  • Maintain and improve standards of clinical practice and ensure compliance with legislation and regulations.
  • Initiate and implement corporate decisions that advance service quality and patient care.
  • Participate actively in change management processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct assessments, create treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Ensure that all services provided meet the Quality Standards and the ethos of the organization.
  • Engage in regular supervision, peer reviews, and continuous professional development.
  • Support the development of other medical staff and contribute to educational programs within the hospital.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Be medically qualified and hold MRC Psych or equivalent.
  • Possess a GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • Completed Core Psychiatry Training (CT1–CT3) and Higher Specialist Training (ST4–ST6).
  • Have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) confirming eligibility for consultant psychiatrist roles.
  • Hold a recognized medical degree (e.g., MBBS, MBChB) from a GMC-approved institution.
  • Mandatory skills include psychiatric diagnosis expertise, Mental Health Act 1983 knowledge, and leadership within multidisciplinary teams.
Desired Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the field of psychiatry, with a focus on management roles.
  • Significant understanding of contemporary issues in mental health and relevant legislative frameworks.
  • Previous consultant experience within private hospitals and NHS settings is advantageous.
