Job summary

Barnardo's in Scotland is seeking a Social Worker within our Adoption Service to recruit, assess and train prospective and approved adoptive parents, and to provide tailored pre- and post-placement support to adoptive families.

You will also offer training, work with hope, creativity and empathy to help families build secure and lasting connections, and contribute to the development of the service through reflective practice and professional curiosity.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker registered with SSSC.
• Enthusiastic, motivated and passionate about achieving the very best outcomes for children.
• Willing to grow within a highly experienced team and travel around the central belt of Scotland.

Join our busy and dynamic adoption team here in Scotland. We have a strong team who are ready to welcome a new recruit and work alongside one another. We are one small part of the wider UK adoption teams and this gives great opportunities to learn from colleagues across the country. About the role

As a Social Worker within our Adoption Service, you will:

• Contribute to the ongoing development of our service through reflective practice, learning and professional curiosity

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate about achieving the very best outcomes for children. You'll be supported to work therapeutically and to grow your skills through ongoing development opportunities.

Whilst we are a Scotland wide service, most of the work will be based around the central belt of Scotland with reasonable travel expected.
